Dr. Ticola

Dr. Matthew Ticola was born and raised along the southwest Gulf coast in Sarasota, FL.  He graduated from the University of Florida with honors with a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology in 1999.  He then went on to receive his doctorate from the University Of Florida College Of Dentistry in 2003.  After graduating, he went on to pursue a career in public service.  First he worked at the Veterans Administration in Gainesville, FL.  Then, he quickly entered into the National Health Service Corps.  There he served for over three years in Florida at a non-profit and as a health department dental director delivering dental care to migrant workers, rural and inner-city children, and those afflicted with HIV/AIDS.  Later he joined a family dental practice in Gainesville, FL and then again to treating underserved children in western South Carolina.Realizing his passion for children and those with special needs, Dr. Ticola entered into a pediatric specialty program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2010.

He was selected in 2011 as a SPARKS Trainee furthering his exposure and interest in delivering dental care to those with special needs.  Also in 2011, Dr. Ticola was selected to be the Chief Resident, sharing his experience, leadership, and skills with faculty and his fellow residents.  He now resides with his supportive wife of nine years, Daphne and their three sons in Panama City Beach.  Being a longtime friend and dental school roommate of Dr. Berry, Dr. Ticola is happy now to call Bay County his home and help in delivering quality dental care alongside Dr. Berry to the children and special needs of this great community.
